R&D Tax Credits Case Study: Ensoi Ltd
See how Grantify's end-to-end service helped Ensoi Ltd navigate HMRC checks and secure tax relief for their innovative clothing manufacturing.
Meet Ensoi Ltd
Ensoi is a textile manufacturing company, specialising in innovative sustainable silk clothing and built-in bra patent-pending solutions.
The company boasts a no waste, on-demand production process to build sustainability into the heart of its garment manufacturing.
Grantify partnered with Ensoi to explore its eligibility for R&D tax relief to reinvest into its innovative manufacturing processes.
Thorough Analysis and Compliance Checking
We began with a full technical review of projects and assessment against the R&D eligibility criteria of the CIRD guidelines, to ensure the company’s activities were eligible under the scheme, and to identify qualifying projects.
We performed a thorough compliance check making sure that Ensoi met the criteria for an SME per recommendation 2003/361/SME.
Eligible expenditure was carefully calculated, omitting any routine projects and administration activities not directly contributing to qualifying projects.
Additionally, only expenditure falling into the company’s profit and loss account in an accounting period has been claimed in that period.
Working closely with Ensoi’s team of competent professionals we analysed the activities believed to provide a significant advance in technology, and advised on the exclusion of time spent on non-scientific or non-technological aspects of the development.
This level of in-depth, focused support set the claim up for the greatest chance of success. The claim documentation was reviewed by our team of qualified in-house accountants, with over 20 years’ experience, and submitted on the client’s behalf.
R&D Tax Relief Success - Simplified
We submitted three claims for Ensoi, all of which were checked by HMRC - all three successfully defended with no amendments needed from the client.
The successful claims mark a great result for Ensoi, and have been reinvested into their ongoing product development.
